When I sat down to review my shots from today I didn’t think I had a shot. You may still think I don’t, given the subject matter and the treatment I have done on it. Remember Day 41? Well I found myself passing that spot again and I couldn’t help but take another “beautiful concrete” shot. The process of bringing out the beauty is very simple. Use the “Blacks ” slider in lightroom. It brings out the most amazing tones in the drab lifeless grey of the concrete. I had another shot I thought I might use but I decided against it as I wanted to use something in colour today. If you do want to see the outtake shot it will be on my flickr photostream shortly after I upload this one!

Images Viewed: Please forgive me for linking to the daily mails website, if you feel you need to go take a shower afterwards I will understand. This story really sums up photographic patience. Three months sitting in an African water hole? Dedication.
Other Inspiration: Inspiration has been hard to find recently. A lot of my mind is focused on my dissertation. However anyone who follows me on twitter will know that I have been watching a LOT of episodes of House. That show really gets me thinking. As you know the wife’s a Doctor so its like having my opwn translator in the room. Last night I even goe a diagnosis right before House did! I was jumping round the room shouting “I AM A DOCTOR!!!”

The textures are amazing.
great textures and colours, I love how the camera (and post-processing) reveal what the eye cannot see.
