Day 61: What’s In a Rose?

So march is upon us and today really felt like the first day for spring. The sun was shining the sky was blue and I felt happy to be alive. There are even crocus’ blooming on Devonshire green. All in all it was a lovely day. I bought my wife some pale yellow roses yesterday. She was very happy with me. Christine likes to receive romantic gifts from time to time but unfortunately she has married one of the worlds least romantic men. Well least romantic in the gift sense I am perfectly romantic in other areas than you very much. However yesterday I had some flowers waiting for her when she got home and she was in a lovely mood all evening. Today I thought I would take a shot of the flowers. This is what I came up with. I took a few shots and even though this is not sharply focused It stood out. It was processed in Lightroom only I gave it a fairly large S contrast curve to bring out the differences between the highlights and the shadows and played with the vibrance and saturation sliders until I was happy. Hope you like it.

I like the way a lot of the other Project 365ers on flickr are making monthly collages too. Whenever I see one I’ve been revisiting their photostreams and marking my favourite one on their collage.

Other Inspiration:
Work on the dissertation continues. I think I have nailed down my final contents page now. All I need to do now is research it, write it up and complete the testing phase! Ha!
