Day 363: Nairobi City Market

And so came to an end our African adventure. This was our last full day in Kenya. We traveled down from Embu to Nairobi in the morning and went to the Nairobi City Market to get some souvenirs. This building comes as a surprise, it was originaly built in the 1920′s as an aircraft hangar but its airstrip has long been swallowed by the city. At some point after that it became a wrestling venue and after then it was re-purposed to be the “European Market” where the colonial Europeans shopped. I had been there before on my previous Kenya Trip and so I had this shot planned. I wanted to get up on the surrounding balconies and try to do a multi-shot panorama for later stitching. I thought I had blown it as I did not use exposure lock and the middle shots of the windows came out very dark. Lucky Autopano Pro came to my rescue and managed to even out the exposure in the shots. I refrained from cropping this shot so you could experience the whole of this fantastic structure.

Of course it goes without saying that this needs to be viewed large.
